If you encounter any problem not described here, or one that claims to be fixed and isn't, please let me (Richard [dot] Bryan [at] bioch.ox.ac.uk ) know.

The old server and mail interface have been discontinued.

19-OCT-2007 16:00
Mail Interface:- it seems that certain browsers don't close windows as expected when the "close" button is clicked. Safari appears to exhibit this issue. An obvious workaround is to use the generic close button, i.e., the red cross in the upper left on Safari.
The logout method is admittedly clumsy. Again, on Safari, the expected messages at each stage don't appear in the main window. Also, the instructions are confusing - for Safari, the login box shows the buttons "cancel" and "login"; in this context, for "OK", read "login".

The old server on port 8081 is now only available for using the old mail interface. Would those still using that please change to the new one asap, if necessary updating your password if the old one has expired.

1-OCT-2007 16:30
The default server is now running Apache software.
The old version is still available via the link on the home page - it's using port 8081, with the old mail interface.

1-OCT-2007 10:00
The colour scheme on the new mail interface is now in Oxford colours (more-or-less).

28-SEP-2007 10:30
A temporary problem logging in to the old version of mail has been fixed.

28-SEP-2007 10:30
Logins to the new mail service will only work if neither the account nor password has expired. The old version would still allow logins under these circumstances.
If you can't log in to the new version, but can to the old, first try to change your password by logging in interactively to nutmeg.
If that doesn't work, please contact me.

I'm still changing the colour scheme on the new mail service. Hopefully that will look a bit more consistent soon. Sorry if you aesthetics are being offended.

Most things seem to work on the new server. The static pages all seem to be in place. If there are no major problems enountered, the server will be definitively changed on Monday 1 October, which will require a few minutes during which neither server will be available.
The old server (and mail interface) will continue to be available as an alternative for a few weeks, in case any issues arise.
