Studentship for 2006-2009 Structural studies of the Innate Immune System The Group is due to move to the Sir William Dunn School of Pathology in Spring 2006. Applications for D.Phil. places for 2006 onwards must therefore be made via the Sir William Dunn School (www.path.ox.ac.uk). We will be seeking a student in 2006 to work on projects related to innate immunity to support ongoing work funded by the MRC and the BBSRC. There are currently one postdoctoral research assistant and two students working in this area at present and we are seeking to appoint another PDRA to be in post before autumn 2006. This student will work within this group of people to add to our efforts to provide structural understandings of the innate immune system and its interactions with pathogens. Postdoctoral Research Assistant for 3 years funded by the BBSRC - closing date 2/12/2005 Complement regulation by Soft Tick proteins Research Associate 1A Department of Biochemistry Laboratory of Molecular Biophysics We are seeking to appoint a Research Associate to work within the laboratory of Dr S M Lea (currently in the Department of Biochemistry and due to move to new labs in the Sir William Dunn School of Pathology during 2006) on a project which will use structural methods and inhibitory proteins to increase our understanding of the complement system. Applicants should possess a PhD or equivalent and should have experience in protein chemistry or molecular biology and either structure solution using X-ray crystallography or complement biology. The post is funded by BBSRC for up to 3 years, in the first instance. This position is graded on the University's RA1A scale, for which the salary range is £20,044 - £30,002 per annum. The actual starting salary offered will be based on qualifications and relevant job skills and will also be determined by the funding available.
